 BELLY
DANCE is a unique dance of passion, sensuality and beauty.
To watch a belly dancer express the energy of this art through her movements is
a truly magical experience that only those with a deep understanding of
sensuality and passion can appreciate and enjoy. Belly dance is a dance of
liberation and freedom in this often confining world of rules.
A beautiful dancer is confident and powerful in her movements from slow undulations to
fast, sharp hips and shimmies. Belly dance involves and symbolizes every part of
the body, soul and movement of life. Women as much as men are moved, inspired
and easily bewitched by a belly dancer.
Kimberly Andora ("A gift") dances with a deep understanding and appreciation of
the gift belly dance has given her. She believes every woman is of the
goddess and her dance evokes the divine. Kimberly is a true belly dancer
because she enables the viewer to actually see what the music would look like if
it was expressed through dance. With grace and passion, she uses snake like
movements to create a picture of haunting music. With uninhibited energy and
confidence she moves fast to express the sharp, intense drum beats. Kimberly's
unique expression is clearly visible through the liberation of belly dance.
Kimberly has worked with a myriad of renowned and
accomplished dancers over the years. All of
her teachers have encouraged her and helped her develop as a dancer but it was
her own perseverance, dedication and practice that cultivated her skills and
created her own unique belly dance style. Kimberly has danced with
professional troupes that featured an eclectic mix of choreography styles
including jaz and hip/hop, as well as classic Egyptian caberet. Kimberly
prefers the unique expression of dancing solo but she also enjoys learning
choreography and dancing with others who share her gift. She is currently
dancing with the accomplished and beautiful Elana of Raks Rosa Belly Dance
Company www.RaksRosa.com as well as Terriann and her talented troupe
Joweh. www.Terrianneandjoweh.com .
She also dances with the Valkyeries, an eclectic mix of tribal fusion, burlesque
and traditional caberet. The
dancers in all these troupes are all extremely talented and dancing
with them is a constant challenge and inspiration for Andora to grow and learn
as a dancer.
Kimberly Andora performs occasionally at many bay area restaurants and regularly
on Friday and Saturday nights at
the Sizzling Tandor and the Kabob and Curry House, both in Santa Rosa. Both restaurants
are always filled with belly dancing fans and she loves the opportunity to dance
and bring joy to the patrons. She dances throughout the year at private parties,
fund raisers, banquets, wineries, and every chance she can at parades and
festivals. She is also an instructor of belly dance at Fifth
Street Fitness and Solstice Dance and Yoga
www.srsolsticestudio.com, both in Santa Rosa. Kimberly welcomes every opportunity to dance both for
herself and to offer the magic of this dance for others to enjoy. |
